Volunteer Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications for New Members:
Any person eighteen (18) years or older, of good character, in good health, and meeting statutory requirements may apply for active membership in the District. Active members must reside within the District boundaries or as approved by the Trustees.
Requirements for New Members:
Active members are required to attend the training and business activities of the District. A member must attend a minimum of 8 drills per quarter. An active member shall also be known as a Fire Fighter. Any waiver of these requirements will require majority approval of the Trustees.
Active member must serve a minimum probationary period of six (6) months.
During a probationary period, a member shall attend at least 18 drills and 40 percent of fire/medical calls.
During a probationary period, membership may be suspended by the Chief or Chairman and expulsion of said member by majority of the Board may occur.
Probationary members will not be able to vote at any membership meetings.
Active members must complete a Basic Firefighting course or a minimum Certified First Responder course within 2 years of joining the District or they will no longer be an active member.
Responsibilities of Active Members:
When in the area protected by this District, it is the duty of all active members of this District to respond to all alarms of fire or emergency transmitted to this District. Members must use diligence, caution, and sound judgment in getting themselves and apparatus to the scene of an alarm or drill.
Members shall adhere to the authority and lawful orders issued by the Fire Chief, Line Officer, or Senior Member in absence of said Officers. All SOP's should be followed where appropriate.
Any non-emergent use of the apparatus or equipment thereon must be approved by the Fire Chief.
Members must advise the Fire Chief of any change in their response status or personal situations adversely affecting their emergency response availability.
Members responding to an alarm in a privately owned vehicle shall do so with caution and shall observe all Utah State vehicle and traffic laws.
Members may be subject to appropriate Driver's License checks, background checks, or drug tests.
The Board of Trustees, by majority vote, may take action on an individual basis to censure, suspend, or expel any member failing to fulfill minimum attendance or other requirements.

We meet every Thursday at 7pm for training drills. Come join us to learn more about our organization, the volunteer roles available, and the training process. Contact the Fire Chief at (385) 350-1673 ahead of the meeting to let him know you will be coming.

Once you decide to join, fill out our volunteer application form.
Step 3: Undergo Background Checks
